About Riversol Skin Care

Dr. Jason Rivers, one of North America’s leading dermatologists, founded Riversol after searching for a skin care line that would help relieve the symptoms of rosacea and redness, while being tolerated on even the most sensitive skin.

During his research, Dr. Rivers became aware of thujaplicin (thoo-ya-pli-cin), a potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibiotic, effective on rosacea and sensitive skin. Riversol For Rosacea was born.

First used by First Nations peoples for medicinal purposes, thujaplicin derives from the western red cedar tree. Although clinical studies have demonstrated thujaplicin to have anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antifungal and anti-oxidant properties, it is rarely used in skin care lines because it is expensive to extract and produce. But as Dr. Rivers discovered, the results are well worth it.
